In 1888, the city of Smith Center welcomed this building as its downtown opera house. Constructed in a Romanesque Revival style, it contains a large stone arched doorway, several arched windows, and the same stone rustication found on the Richardsonian Romanesque First National Bank Building located at the end of the same block.
